BEHAVIORAL ISSUES

A good behaviorist is one of the best tools you can have! When working with a behaviorist, you should make sure that you are working with a Certified Cat Behavior Consultant (CCBC). Today’s behaviorists are the best detectives you can have. They will assess your case thoroughly, ask for your Vet records in advance, and give you a “get well plan.”

Most Behaviorists charge $300 or so. They will send you a very detailed Questionnaire. They will schedule a Video conference with you and your cat(s) and ask you to show them around your house, so that they can provide you with helpful solutions.

A good Behaviorist should be a trusted member of your “team,” just as your Veterinarian should be.

Behaviorists can help with:

Inappropriate Urination

Aggression

Separation Anxiety

Counter-surfing

Door-darting

Scratching or Biting

Extreme vocalization

Our Recommendation

We know you all love your cats. Wouldn’t it be better to resolve the behavior issues and keep your loving cat and family member with you?

If you are struggling with cat behavior issues, please note that sometimes Behavior issues are caused by serious and potentially painful medical issues.

After a Vet has ruled out any medical problems, we would encourage you to contact Marilyn Krieger, Certified Cat Behavior Consultant The Cat Coach.
